This is Matt Urban's F.O.R.D. ( Faulty Operational Rolling Debris ). Matt has sent me a couple of letters regarding his creation. As it turns out, Matt use to live near me, and shares the same "Wallace & Ladmo" memories that I do. You would have to be from where I'm from to understand. Hint: it was a way cool kids show that even my mother liked! It was on television from 1954 to 1989.Here are a couple excerpts from Matt's letters:
Letter 1, September 2000
"Great site! I place the blame for my robot obsession on my mom. She bought me two for Christmas when I was 5 and it was all down hill from there. Attached is a pic of my robot Faulty Operational Rolling Debris. F.O.R.D. He has 2 Powerwheels motors in his base and 2 more for claw motors. Two windshield wiper motors raise and lower his arms."Letter 2, September 2000
"F.O.R.D took about a year to build. He was finished back in 1996. I use him to entertain the kids at Halloween. I have also rented him out a couple of times to some local businesses for advertising, mainly waving at passing cars."I think Matt deserves an "A" for his robot, don't you think?
