10/2/00 18:45 Mike: Just FYI. I saw the following comment on "jeff's robots" website. You comment: *********** The "dummy" arm could be replaced with a motorized upgrade. (Not true. Omnibot 2000 was only ever built to have one motorized arm, and doesn't have any circuitry a second arm could be connected to. The second arm would also require different plastic moldings to the first arm, which would be too expensive to make for just an "optional accessory". No optional motorized arm was ever advertised or made for Omnibot 2000). ********** Mostly correct but I thought I should let you know that I have, very simply in fact, used an existing Omnibot 2000 powered right arm and socket that I had laying around and upgraded my Omnibot 2000's left arm with it. The parts simply swap right out. All you do is rotate the socket (180?, I can't remember the exact increment or direction) and then, also rotate the lower arm assembly 180 degrees. The polarity of the motors will also need to be reversed. That's it. Now, you are correct about the circuitry. You only have one circuit and it will only handle one arm at a time. Works pretty cool........ I will upgrade the bot to include an additional circuit activated by depressing one of the existing O2K Master Control (remote) keys but have'nt had the time as of yet. Nice website Jeff....... Steve
